What Is EGYPS?

The Egypt Petroleum Show is one of the most prominent oil and gas events held in North Africa and the Mediterranean. Industry leaders gather to discuss the recent oil and gas industry updates, build constructive business relationships and networks, as well as exchange valuable expertise and information amongst the global gas and oil giants. Due to Covid 19 implications in the recent years, EGYPS 2022 dates were still being discussed, but following the success of the four exhibitions done before, the fifth edition of the EGYPS conference is set to be held from the 14th to the 16th of February 2022 under the patronage of the Egyptian president, His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The venue will be in Cairo at the Egypt International Exhibition Center and is expected to have 26,000+ attendees, 450+ exhibitors of the biggest national and international oil and gas companies, 260+ speakers, 8 country pavilions and 73 conference sessions.

Why Egypt?

Egypt, apart from its African and neighboring sister countries, was chosen for a myriad of reasons, Its past success and great history being on top of them. Additionally, since March 2020, 14 upstream agreements were approved and done with international oil companies (IOCs)  that are operating in the Egyptian upstream domain for the first time, including companies such as Chevron or ExxonMobil. Moreover, Egyptian Ministers of Energy, along with Energy Ministers from other countries (Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Palestine), were part of the approval and transformation of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF) into an internationally recognized  Mediterranean natural gas fields development organization.

In 2020 alone, an astonishing 62 oil and gas discoveries were made in the Mediterranean sea, Nile Delta, Eastern and Western deserts and the Gulf of Suez. Of these new discoveries, 15 were natural gas and 46 were crude oil. Moreover, over the past six years only, Egypt’s petroleum investments have been over 1.2 trillion, which attracted around 90% of direct foreign investments. It is also worth mentioning that in 2021 Egypt had an international oil and gas bid, with 24 areas in the Gulf of Suez, Western and Eastern Mediterranean and the Western Desert. These discoveries, along Egypt’s great history, made it a rather wise and exceptional choice for EGYPS.

Oil & Gas Exhibitors at EGYPS 2022

EGYPS 2022 is anticipated to be the biggest one yet. With an expanded exhibition space at the Egypt International Exhibition Center to take up to 26,000 attendees, EGYPS 2022 will be attracting strategic and industry leaders from all over the world, with government representatives, CEOS, and IOCs, international service providers and expert consultants, all there to discuss oil and gas insights and the latest industry updates.

National and international oil companies will be participating in this prestigious event. Some examples of the national companies supporting and participating in EGYPS 2022 include CHC, Hellenic, Ganope, EGPC and proudly Tam Oilfield Services. As for the international oil, gas and energy companies supporting and participating in EGYPS 2022, these include firms such as Cheiron, ExxonMobil, Total Energies, Schlumberger, Siemens Energy, PetroJet, Halliburton and our partner Baker Hughes.

Furthermore, previous exhibitors’ feedback proves how much of a success past EGYPS exhibitions were. To elaborate, according to their feedback, EGYPS met and even exceeded  93% of the exhibitors return on investment (ROI).  Moreover, 86% were satisfied with the quality of visitors and 80% plan on making a return for EGYPS 2022.
